It is always hard at the start. Doing physical exercises is more like a work at the start. At first, you would even think that it is something you are only forcing yourself to do. It is painful, tiring and rather than reduce stress, it can only lead to fatigue. But, as you continue with it and make it as a daily routine, you will actually start to depend on it and by that time, you’ll experience the benefits it can actually do to you; not only for your physical health but mentally as it reduce your stress level. Doing aerobic exercise is also good for women. You can actually choose which you want. I am more in to long distance running as a physical activity. There those aerodances, biking, boxing, and other exercises you can choose from. Some exercises don’t only promote you endurance but also develop ones flexibility, agility and rhythm as you do some exercises with music. There are actually some explanations (both scientific and behavioral) that actually prove the effectiveness of exercising to contend anxiety and depression.

Mental benefits of aerobic exercise have a neurochemical basis. Exercise reduces levels of the body’s stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body’s natural painkillers and mood elevators. Endorphins are responsible for the “runner’s high” and for the feelings of relaxation and optimism that accompany many hard workouts or simply because of the hot shower you got after your exercise is over. As it promotes blood circulation, It supply oxygen to the brain which allows it to work more efficiently and can make you think and solve things clearly.

Behavioral factors also contribute to the emotional benefits of exercise. As your waistline shrinks and your strength and stamina increase, your self-image will improve. You’ll earn a sense of mastery and control, of pride and self-confidence. Your renewed vigor and energy will help you succeed in many tasks, and the discipline of regular exercise will help you achieve other important lifestyle goals. It also provides an escape to provide you a chance for a new environment free from stress brought by work. It allows you to get acquainted and meet new friends and create a new network. All people need some leisure. When your body is so busy of doing stuff, your mind is occupied making it incapable to think about problems brought by daily life. Thus, it allows you to think things creatively and clearly.

Most exercises actually work. You can try different exercises or sport until you find which suits you best. Many people find that using large muscle groups in a rhythmic, repetitive fashion works best; call it “muscular meditation,” and you’ll begin to understand how it works. Walking and jogging are prime examples. Even a simple 20-minute stroll can clear the mind and reduce stress. But some people prefer vigorous workouts that burn stress along with calories. Ellipticals became popular for that reason. The same stretching exercises that help relax your muscles after a hard workout will help relax your mind as well. So don’t let stress control you. Control your stress with exercise and be healthy physically and mentally.
