Yes, we love the sweet, innocent and kind little souls in movies. And yes, if we could, we really would beat the life out of their oppressors. But there are villains who may be the bodily representations of Satan for being just so mean, yet we just cannot ultimately hate them for being so hot, fabulous, and fiercely beautiful. And yes, sometimes we tend to love them more than the heroes and heroines.
- Bellatrix Lestrange of the Harry Potter series as portrayed by Helena Bonham-Carter
This crazily evil witch from the Harry Potter series comes with ruthless conjuring of spells to murder and torture her victims. With that frantic head comes crazy eyes and hair. She willingly performed forbidden curses, threw a knife at a house elf, tortured a mudblood, broke into the Ministry of Magic, and even murdered her own cousin all for her equally cruel Lord Voldemort. We just cannot help but be awed by Helena Bonham-Carter’s top notch acting prowess and Bellatrix Lestrange’s bloodcurdling yet cooler than cool craziness.
- Regina George of Mean Girls as portrayed by Rachel McAdams
Yes, she’s an epitome of a pretty, popular and powerful queen bee of high school who can ruin reputations in just a phone call. What Regina wants, Regina gets. No one just can resist the charm of a Regina George. With just a wink of an eye or a flip of the hair, this human Barbie gets it all. Yes, she ruined the lives of everyone. But you cannot deny that at one point, you wanted to be Regina George.
- Dolores Umbridge of the Harry Potter series as portrayed by Imelda Staunton
She is very unlike Bellatrix who fought violently and looked all so frighteningly crazy. She was just your typical annoying school administrator who you would just want to get rid of. Bellatrix was fierce and crazily evil, but Dolores Umbridge is a character you can actually see walking the school corridor in reality. Admit it. Somebody annoying entered your mind when you first knew of the existence of Umbridge. And yes, she is a mixture of annoying old lady and pink.
- The White Witch of The Chronicles of Narnia as portrayed by Tilda Swinton
This power-hungry cursed Narnia for a long, long time of all snow and no Christmas, turned Edmund against his siblings, and stabbed the great Aslan on the Stone Table. But, she may have been the best thing about the film adaptation with Tilda Swinton’s one of a kind beauty and immense acting talent.
- Mother Grothel of Tangled as portrayed by Donna Murphy
“Look in that mirror. I see a strong, confident, beautiful young lady. Oh look, you’re here too.” When she said that would be one of the most cruelly hilarious and unforgettable villain nastiness I have ever seen in my life. This youth and beauty-obsessed witch was loathsome for keeping a young innocent princess from the life she deserved. But her vanity and selfishness were not only just funny and notable, they are also reflective of the reality of some girls who take every necessary means to remain young and beautiful.
