There are so many ways to keep our body healthy, you can eat nutritious foods, keep your body active, live a healthy lifestyle and drink teas. Yes! Teas can keep your body healthy. Even though it’s just a bunch of dried herbal leaves boiled and drunk upon by some old lady, drinking tea is something that will really be a great help in maintaining and achieving a healthy you. Many people have been enjoying drinking their tea for a daily basis that it becomes important for their lives, though it had been traditional for Asians; still Western countries was able to capture its influence without much effort as now it plays a vital role in the lifestyle of their people.

As herbal teas were discovered in China merely for medicinal purposes, it was lately introduced to the Western Countries as Early Chinese were known to be great traders throughout the world. The tea trade system later spread in the whole world mainly because of the wide-trade range of Chinese merchants. Sooner as tea crops were spread around the world, the number of demands for tea increases as the tea culture was spread by Asian immigrants and the return of Western travellers who brought with them tidings of tea as they return. Now we are enjoying our tea drinks with ease as it was industrialized by businessmen around the globe.

There are many benefits that drinking tea can give us.  First it has antioxidants which could prevent the early signs of aging in our body as well as protect us from the harm of environmental pollution. John Weisburger, PhD, showed that tea modifies the metabolism to detoxify harmful chemicals.  All teas which are made of Camellia tea plant (Camellia Sinensis), which are popularly in Green Tea and Black Tea, was known to have polyphenols, an antioxidant which detoxify free-radicals that damages the cells in the body. Also teas have flavonoids, an antioxidant which is essential for healthy heart function. Green Tea, Black Tea and other teas are rich in flavonoids, so that means drinking tea mean drinking for a healthy heart.

Second, it boosts the immune system of the body. Alkylamines, which are commonly present in tea, can help prevent diseases and illness by helping in the mobilization of the natural immune defences of the body through the blood stream and it also helps in preparing the immune system to recognize pathogenic invaders. Studies show that blood exposed to Alkylamines responded much stronger to infection .

Third, it strengthens the bones and protects the teeth. Prolonged consumption of tea, may it be Black Tea, Green Tea, or Oolong Tea was discovered to strengthen bones, not only because of the milk infused with milk teas but for teas contain epigallocatechin (EGC), gallocatechin (GC), and gallocatechin gallate (GCG)which strengthen the bones.   Also, unsweetened teas contain fluoride and tannis which prevents plaque formation in your teeth.

Fourth, teas protect you from cancer and reduce your risk in acquiring heart diseases.  Teas have polyphenols which is a cancer-fighting antioxidant that is proven by scientific studies around the world, proving that teas deserve to be included in your market list. Also, drinking teas keep your arteries clog-free which prevent heart attacks and heart strokes from hitting you.


Driniking tea is really helpful in our body. Aside from those that I included, the effect of drinking teas also depends on the materials that were used or the herbal infusions included in your fave tea. Aside from that, teas have a lot of health benefits that was either proven by science or was believed by loyal consumers.
