Why are they unwanted? Unwanted pregnancy normally occur at teenage years or at near menopausal stage. For teenage girls, it is normally brought by unsafe sex which comprises the majority of unwanted pregnancy. Abortion is on the lookout in these cases which is the resort of girls when they get so confused or scared on their situation. Health and life of the mother and her baby are of great risk since they are either too young or too mature that can affect the growth of the baby in their womb and at the same time, it is possible that they are not strong enough to surpass the challenges in getting pregnant which can even lead to their death, or the baby or both.

Some may have been brought from sexual abuse which involves more issues and trials since it involves deeper psychological issues. Women are abused in different places all over the world. It is rooted in their culture that degrades women’s dignity and end up being abused and molested. Many organizations have been working on these issues to empower women in all parts of the world. It has been a very long process and is continuing work and with the support of the government, more women are now getting more privileges.

While abortion may be a solution to unwanted pregnancy, keep in mind that there’s more risk in getting your baby aborted. Conscience would affect you psychologically for losing your baby. Aside from that, it can affect your health. Many abortionists are not monitored for sanitation and practice making you highly susceptible to infection or wrong operation. This can further affect your health especially when by the time you decided to have a baby. It can affect your menstrual cycle which is a great factor on the overall health of a woman. Any wrong procedure can actually make you dead. If you are now at this stage, I strongly suggested that you keep your baby and make him or her live.

It is difficult to carry a child for nine months but with help of the people who really cares for you, there is nothing you can’t overcome. Acceptance is the first step in overcoming an unwanted pregnancy. Accept the situation and admit that you need help and seek for help. You may be so upset at the moment that your mind is blocked with all the negative thoughts and may think that no one will help you, but there are people who are willing to help. If your family and friends cannot, there are those from the government or other private institution that are willing to help you out. Getting pregnant even though unwanted is not really the end of the world. Look at it as a chance and a challenge to you on how you can really overcome this stage of life. In the end, there is nothing more delighting seeing your child growing despite of all the things you’ve been through, you can consider your child as a gift that will always be there for you as you have been there to protect him or her in the most vulnerable part of his or her life; the time when he or she is in your womb which it’s all up to you to make her live or die.
