Water is by far, the safest thing to drink. Water is a very important part of the human body as well as the whole world. As many would strongly agree, you can actually live longer without food but rather than without water. It is a very important part of your life. Water exist abundantly on all parts of the world making people neglect their use. Many end up consuming different beverages out there and forget drinking water. Is it really important? There are recent issues regarding too much water drinking can be bad for your health. Is it really bad? Were the benefits of water oversold to people that covers the possible negative effects it can bring to us? Is 8-10 glasses of water worth the drinking or is it a risk for your health?

They say that there will be a possibility that drinking too much water can end up reducing the salt in our body and can make our brain shrink. Too much water can affect our sleeping habits at night as we are disturbed when we need to pee due to too much water. However, these are still mere speculations. As of today, no one was actually reported to have a shrunk brain due to too much water. It may seem to say, no one has ever exceeded their body’s water capacity. It is actually released in the body as urine, sweat, or any secretions in the body.

Water is still essential to the body. Fluid losses occur continuously, from skin evaporation, breathing, urine, and stool; these losses must be replaced daily for good health. When your water intake does not equal your output, you can become dehydrated. Fluid losses are accentuated in warmer climates, during strenuous exercise, in high altitudes, and in older adults, whose sense of thirst may not be as sharp.

Water maintains balance among body fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.

Water Helps Energize Muscles. Cells that don’t maintain their balance of fluids and electrolytes shrivel, which can result in muscle fatigue. “When muscle cells don’t have adequate fluids, they don’t work as well and performance can suffer.

Water Helps Keep Skin Looking Good. Your skin contains plenty of water, and functions as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss. Dehydration makes your skin look more dry and wrinkled, which can be improved with proper hydration. But once you are adequately hydrated, the kidneys take over and excrete excess fluids.

Water Helps Your Kidneys. Body fluids transport waste products in and out of cells. The main toxin in the body is blood urea nitrogen, a water-soluble waste that is able to pass through the kidneys to be excreted in the urine. When you’re getting enough fluids, urine flows freely, is light in color and free of odor. When your body is not getting enough fluids, urine concentration, color, and odor increases because the kidneys trap extra fluid for bodily functions

Water Helps Maintain Normal Bowel Function. Adequate hydration keeps things flowing along your gastrointestinal tract and prevents constipation. When you don’t get enough fluid, the colon pulls water from stools to maintain hydration which result to constipation.

Water has proven its worth over the years even as the world began. So keep drinking water for it is still essential for your cleansing, regulation and other body’s daily needs.
