Women’s health should be treasured. Your body is a precious gift. The fact that you are human, the highest form of animal makes you special. Your bright mind makes you think differently unlike lower forms of animals that just based their lifestyle with instinct. They only have basic things in mind; to eat, to sleep or rest, and to grow, in other words, their main duty in life is to survive. We, humans have the ability to think beyond and to develop whatever we have and with that come bigger responsibility to care for the world that was given to us to live in. The basic thing is to start from within. Care for yourself health-wise, meaning you have to take care of your body, mind and soul for that is what Women’s health is generally about. From there you can start caring for others as well.

Prevention is always better than cure. Though it may be less convenient for some cases, it’s always cheaper, safer, and more guaranteed. Despite some technological advancement for medicine and treatment procedures nowadays, not all sicknesses are curable. Thus, it is still necessary to prevent acquiring diseases to fully enjoy your life. Honestly, I don’t think that there is someone who would like to get seriously sick especially for those who’ve been there. So the best way to take care of yourself is to treasure your health, though you cannot really avoid all sickness, at least keep your body strong enough to fight any illness that may come along your way. We’ll be focusing on four different tips that would help keep you healthy; proper nutrition, physical activities or exercises, ample amount of rest and sleep, and cleanliness.

Women’s health tip # 1.

I guess everyone has the idea what a proper diet is all about and just have no plans on going through it. They think it’s a matter of depriving yourself of what you want especially when you can really afford it. I don’t think there is such thing as bad food, and actually there is no such thing as “junk food” according to food technologist. If it’s considered food, it provide something to your body, only that there are some nutrients that when taken too much may lead to some disorders such as fat, salt, sugar, carbohydrates and others. These are not really bad only have to be monitored to avoid taking too much.

Let me give you 5 foods that should have a place in your diet and you may be surprised why. Peanut butter is said to have too much fat and calories such that it is not good for you. Better to think again. According to studies, eating 1-2 tablespoon of peanut butter is good for your heart and waistline. Peanut butter lowers the risk of coronary heart disease by lowering the total cholesterol thru lowering LDL or ‘bad’ cholesterol and triglycerides. At the same time, using small amount of the spread seem to satisfy hunger better as compared to rice cakes, cakes, pickles and almonds such that it is better for those who want to lose weight. Eggs are said to be high in dietary cholesterol so it’s not safe for the heart. Honestly, egg is like a whole package of nutrients. It is one of the richest food sources for choline. Choline is a nutrient that promotes brain function and is recommended by doctors to pregnant women for their babies. It also contains lutein and zeaxanthin that are anti-oxidants that keeps the eyes healthy. Egg is the highest- quality protein source and contains other essential nutrients such as folate, riboflavin, B12, and selenium. Though they say that coffee may seem to have some negative effects to body, somewhat, the benefits still outweigh the negatives. Studies have proven that coffee improves memory among adult. It can increase alertness and may even lower the risk of having type-2 diabetes by drinking around 6 cups a day. Just spread your coffee drinking for the whole day to avoid jitters and avoid drinking it at night to avoid interfering with sleep and your all good with coffee. If you ever think that avocado is high in fat and should not be eaten, you are half right and wrong. Yes, it contains fat but are monounsaturated which are heart healthy fats. Another good thing for avocado is that it contains several compounds that can inhibit prostate cancer cells. Avocadoes are rich in different anti-oxidants such as lutein, beta-carotene, and vitamin E. Avocadoes also aid in the absorption of phytochemicals in the body due to the fat it contains. Last would be mushrooms, while most think that these are just mostly water and less nutritional benefits, scientist believe that mushroom contains compound that can suppress breast and prostate cancer by boosting the immune system to decrease tumor size. In particular, the giant portobelo contains an anti-oxidant called L-ergothionine in which is only present in fungi. Mushroom can also help regulate blood pressure due to potassium. See that? Having the proper diet does not mean you have to avoid certain food, proper regulation will serve you well.

Women’s health tip #2.

If you’re looking for the best exercise that suits you, better start with running. It’s the best sport I can think of that you can start with. You would only need a pair of running shoes and a road and you’re ready to go. It’s the safest and easiest sport to get yourself into. It is simple physical exercise but provides overall body work out and is suggested for women who want to tone down muscle. If you decide to try other sports such as swimming, biking, karate, and others running will provide you the endurance to fit any sports. Just ensure that you are well hydrated before, during and after workouts. Proper warm-up and cool down will avoid injuries and allow your body to acquire the full benefits of exercising. Proper nutrition will allow you have the energy to do your workouts. Exercise is not only on the physical body but also in the mind. Yoga is good for both mind and body. Continuous reading and learning enhances the mind and keeps on thinking. With mind enhancing food and proper mind exercise will sustain your brain will to work efficiently for a long time.

Women’s health tip #3.

All work and no rest will make you dull. Your body and your mind need rest to repair broken tissues and recharge energy you lost during the day. Having a minimum of 8 hours of deep sleep will allow your body to work efficiently for the next day. Only a few can work efficiently with a minimum of 6 hours sleep so to be sure, make it eight for you. It will also give you a better complexion. If having difficulty to sleep, it can easily be solved without having to drink sleeping pills that may cause different side effects. Relaxing your mind and avoiding thinking problems will allow you to sleep. Avoid eating too much at night for your metabolism may disturb sleep. Alcohol is also not good for it reduces the quality of your sleep that may wake you in the middle of the night. There are several other things that can help you aid sleep. The best way is to consult a doctor to fully address your sleeping disorders. Too much exercise can also worn out your body. A minimum of 3 times a week and a maximum of 6 days of exercise in a week will allow you to feel the benefits of your work out. Allot a day for recovery and pampering. A body may become weak instead of strong if you exceed its use with too much workout.

Women’s health tip #4.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Infections are often brought by different microorganism unseen in our environment. Be careful to anything that makes contact to your body such as food, clothes, utensils and other women’s necessities for any irritation may cause inflammation, allergies or other unwanted disorders. Keep your environment clean. There are less people who got sick to very clean environment as compared to those getting sick due to poor hygiene. Keep your mind clean. Your mind can also be polluted with too much stress and worries. Unburden yourself and keep a clean and peaceful mind to avoid aging fast and getting stress related sickness.

Basically, just know yourself. You and only you can tell what is bad or good for you. Balancing the four basic tips will allow your body to work and live efficiently or even longer, the way you wanted it to be. They all work together and ensure women’s health both inside and out.
